Audit is the process whereby the bookkeeping of the Treasurer and others authorized by the convention to handle funds is checked for accuracy. A comparison is made between the records of actual activity conducted, and the activity that person was authorized to engage in. Differences between the two are noted and reported back to the person(s) requesting the audit.

Audits are not restricted to monetary affairs. If a significant amount of equipment or supplies are purchased or transferred in such a way that the transactions should be noted and tracked, those records can be audited as well.CAtagory:Glossary
