and so on... (see history if you are curious)

Our first Vandal! How kind to leave drugs during the break in. Most people steal them. The links seem to go to some garage band. Not even filkers that I can tell.

I suppose this page could be locked, but it doesn't really solve the problem. Other pages can be hit too. --Bill Taylor 08:31, 26 Oct 2005 (PDT)

More vandalism!

I may have to make posting harder --ConRunnerAdmin 07:39, 14 Nov 2005 (PST)

Whos out there?

To get a feel for who's active on here, let me introduce myself. I'm Brent in Houston Texas. I have some history in the convention scene, and would like to contribute to the general pool of knowledge. --Tbmorgan74 14:26, 13 February 2007 (PST)

Hi, this is RJ Johnson. I've run a few art shows in the midwest circa 1990-1995 and auctioned at lots from th 90s onward. Currently I live in San Francisco, California and I'll be reviewing the Art Show and Auction pages. I've also post a link to those pages in my livejournal for other aucitioneers to take a look at.

You can get a good idea who's active by looking at Recent Changes. And you can get an idea who some people are by looking at their user: and user talk: pages. Right now, as I write, I have a pile of notes from the convention I just wrapped up, and I'm transcribing the useful bits and anything else that pops into my head into here. --phi 20:11, 13 February 2007 (PST)

Hi, this is Pat, AKA Furp. I've worked primarily in the operations portion of conventions from 1998 on to this most recent Anthrocon where I also cut my teeth as an auctioneer. I have attended and worked cons in the Sci-Fi, Gaming and Furry genres. --Furp 01:33, 15 July 2008 (GMT +03:00)

Hi, this is Leane Verhulst. I have been involved in Capricon (Chicago area) since 2003 in various areas. I've recently (within the last few years) been getting more involved with Worldcons too. I've also helped out at a few other cons. I want to help contribute to this wiki. --lmv 16:32, 25 September 2013 (PDT)

Forwards looking or backwards looking

As I review the articles on here I am convinced that sometimes the information is very old. Old because it literally is old verbage taken from the old vax, or old because people are still using those old techniques today because they were trained to, because they don't know any differently, or it literally is just plain effective. I speak of numerous examples suggesting paper and pencil, phone trees, pin boards, stone knives, and bear skins. Modern things like computers, internet, email, wikis, and internal combustion engines are mentioned sometimes as "new" methods. Granted a lot of fandom learned its legs in the 70s and 80s, and technology is moving so fast. However as you sit reading this, you are looking at a wiki based webpage, on a computer, on high speed intertube access. Maybe even on an iphone. It seems a contradiction. I suggest and recommend that we focus our advice and suggestions on the new technology based methods for what we do. But not new just because it is new, but because it is better. --Tbmorgan74 14:40, 13 July 2007 (PDT)

I'm a big fan of effective and reliable technology. Simple to understand and easy to learn to use is good too. Whatever that ends up being is OK with me. Put it up here. --ConRunnerAdmin 15:26, 13 July 2007 (PDT)
