The World Science Fiction Convention ( WorldCon ) is the annual convention of the World Science Fiction Society, which awards the Hugo Award in addition to selecting the committees to run subsequent Worldcons.

Worldcon is typically held on Labor Day weekend (the first weekend in September) though the actual dates and location vary from year to year.

In any year in which the Worldcon is held outside North America, a parallel NASFiC - North American Science Fiction Convention - will be scheduled at a location within North America.
