A relaxacon is a con with little or no programming, basically a weekend-long fan party and gab fest. It may have features such as a huckster's room or banquet, and typically offers a well-stocked consuite, and there are usually room parties, as well.
The first and oldest relaxacon is Midwestcon held annually in Cincinnati, Ohio, on the last full weekend in June since 1950. Although small, it is an influential gathering for smofs, and woe betide the Worldcon bid that neglects to throw a bid party there.
