Code of conduct
From ConRunner
As well as standard code of conduct issues, virtual conventions have extra concerns.
What jurisdiction does the event come under.
Harder to connect online identities to real ones, spoofing is easier. Do you insist that online names match badge names, or merely recommend it.
People are ruder online, problems are more visible, long-lasting and easily copied to the Internet
Keeping material inside the convention is harder. How do you balance publicity and copyright.
Do you attempt control behaviour outside convention spaces, and by merely potential members.
Examples include
- WisCon, very broad
- DisCon III. not aimed at a virtual attendance although con was hybrid
