Consensus, in the case of ConRunner is two things.
First, it is about what is generally agreed upon by the contributors to an article. It isn't necessarily about majority voting, though it may be. It is more importantly about trying to achieve agreement as to what the key defining aspects of a topic may be.
Second, it is about defining the differences of opinion from that agreement, as seen by the various contributors. A dissenting opinion may certainly be given, provided it respectfully acknoledges the existence of other opinon. Rationale supporting the dissent will be required as well.
Consensus here does not conceal anything. It does not suppress anything. Rather, it indicates the relevant points of view and supporting arguments, their relationships to the topic at hand, and their aspects of agreement and disagreement, in a way that allows a new reader to the topic to understand the differing aspects of that topic. The new reader should come away with an appreciation of the complexity of the topic (without the article itself being too complex!), not simply a highly diluted Least Common Denominator description.
