Genre

Genre is a subset of fandom that a particular subject matter may seem to belong to. For example, in the broadest sense of Science Fiction there might be subsets of Hard Science Fiction, Military Science Fiction, Space Opera, Speculative Fiction, Fantasy, Horror, Magical Realism and Historical Fantasy. In addition, the presentation of the story comes into play, so Comics, Anime, Animation, and Media (episodic or serial television) have their own subsets.
