A good chatroom will allow people to offer help and receive advice on the run-up to to a convention, have a helpdesk and social role during it, and provide feedback afterwards. While publicity channels like Facebook and Twitter allow comments, many people refuse to use them, they are too public and have poor threading.

Discord is the clear leader here.

Code of conduct applies here, but if you wish to have targetted policies for particular sections of society, they won't be clear here as "On the Internet No-one Knows you are Dog"
