Hybrid convention

Conventions that are a combination of virtual and physical events.

Much the hardest to organise, as you need to balance the finances, provide programme simultaneously to different spaces (and allow audience members in each to interact with the other), and spread your volunteers more widely.

DisCon III was the first major convention to attempt this.

Video tours of the physical space broadcast over video links, but test the strength of wifi/phone signal through the hallways. They are best done at quiet times of day.

If the physical art show or other exhibits have a No Photography policy, this should be waived for those conducting virtual tours. Seeking videoing permission of everyone in corridors is probably impossible, but common sense is needed.

Advertise times when hall costumers should gather to be seen by virtual attendees
