Legal issues may press a group to solicit advice on laws governing the activities of the convention and the committee. If all goes well, the convention will stay well within the limits of the laws. If however a given activity might come close to edges of the law, or may incur some civil liability, it would be wise to get legal advice before the fact. Contracting and financial activities may require legal advice, as well as liabilities that may arise from convention events.
