Marketing is telling the public about the convention, and finding out how the public feels about what they know. This is the first step in getting people to attend the convention, and great care must be taken or your convention may fail due to lack of interest.

The most common method of convention marketing is attending other conventions, to tell people about yours. But there are other forms of advertising and market research.
