A newsletter is a written update sent out periodically to all registered convention attendees to keep them in the lead-up to the the event. An incomplete list of possible inclusions are news of guests; programme updates; solicitations for assistance or programme items; news of committee changes; notification of venue changes; subscription reminders or notifications; competition entry forms; sponsorship messages; attendee lists; occasional human interest elements.

The newsletter may be combined with a progress report, or may take the form of a separate publication.

Conventions allow members to opt out of paper communications, and just get the newsletters as emails. If producing a PDF its better to quote a link to your website than send an attachment.
