Organization Chart

An Organization Chart is a formatted diagram of how the Convention has assigned staff responsibilities. Basically, who reports to whom, and for what, from the ConCom and across all the divisions / departments / branches / functional areas of responsibility down to the lowest staff member and volunteer. It serves the purpose of providing the viewer a quick way of tracing how each aspect of the Con is connected to some other part, and who supervises or is responsible for it.

A typical Org Chart looks hierarchal, much like a pyramid structure. Each line or box lists the responsible person's name, title or position name, and usually one or more ways to contact that person. The contact information is important, especially when passing a message quickly is necessary.

Org Charts can track formal authority but they don't track influence, which can be frustrating for new volunteers in established organizations.
