Virtual access
From ConRunner
While virtual conventions have many advantages for those unable to afford to travel and negotiate hotels, they introduce new problems to the standard [[access] ones. They require a higher level of computer skill, and the different social norms can be offputting. Not everyone has a modern computer, webcam, reliable or fast internet access or a quiet, private room, and there can be a big technical gap between the planners and attendees. The opportunity to introduce new features like closed captions can be difficult, and poor eyesight or keyboard/mouse difficulties can make VR systems like Gathertown impractical.
